UFC at CFSBK

When world-renowned Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter B.J. Penn went to CrossFit founder Greg Glassman looking for a workout that would mimic the trials of a bout in the Octagon,  Glassman devised a devastating test that ultimately became known as "Fight Gone Bad".  Many of you have fought through Fight Gone Bad so we're thinking of putting UFC's Fight Night live bouts on the CFSBK big screen on Saturday afternoon March 8.  Are you interested in pulling up a mat and grabbing a beer to watch?  Email mare(at)CrossFitSouthBrooklyn so we can guage interest. This would be a free event that would start directly after the 1pm Group class.

Took a ballet class at Alvin Ailey yesterday. Trying to expand my physical horizons. I'm pretty terrible at it but I had a good time. Lets hope grand plies don't come up in the Open.

Og last night

Worked on c+j drills I learned from Josh at training sesh #1. I am really excited to put the right kind of work in and hopefully get better.

Deadlifts 123x5, 133x3, 143x3x5, 153x1, 173x1, 193F, 183F

Rings today was fun and funny. I can't wait for next Saturday!

Tabata Something Else. After a less than consistent effort last time, I tried to focus on my pacing this time. 306 total reps.

Got in today and did Thursday EMOTM C&Js.

Worked at 80kg (176#), which did not feel super heavy, but was enough of a challenge after some time off. Back felt pretty solid throughout, just felt rusty. Very happy to be olympic lifting again, thought it was going to be a while!

Then I rode my motorcycle...spring is around the corner, or it better be!
